Dune runs on macOS, Linux and Windows. Install the app, add the dune command if you like, and optionally run dune-server on any machine you want to open folders on.
Download the DMG, or use the Homebrew tap. The app cask doesn't add a command, so install the CLI formula too if you want dune in your terminal. It's named dune-ide-cli so it doesn't clash with Homebrew's OCaml dune.
On Linux, pick a .deb, an AppImage or a tarball (it installs to /opt/dune). On Windows, run the per-user setup .exe or unzip the portable build.
dune opens files and folders in the app, at a line if you like, diffs two files, waits for an editor to close for git, and installs or lists extensions. --help and --version work even when the app isn't running.
Command-line referenceInstall dune-server on a box, VM or container and the desktop app can open folders there, with files, Git and terminals running remotely. It ships as a Homebrew formula and a Docker image, and it can serve the workbench to a browser too.
dune-server setupYes. The desktop app and your own dune-server are free. Dune Cloud adds persistent cloud workspaces and AI credits per seat; see Pricing.
A warm, AI-first workbench. Free to download. Bring your extensions, your themes, and your agent.
